Getting ready to deliver a truck of food donated by Whole Foods Market

Conscious Alliance At A Glance:

Conscious Alliance is a Boulder, Colorado based national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to the distribution of much-needed food to impoverished communities across the United States. Operating through ongoing, grassroots food collection and hunger awareness programs throughout the U.S.—mostly by organizing food drives at concerts and music events—donations to Conscious Alliance benefit America’s local food pantries and economically isolated Native American reservations. Since our first event in 2002, Conscious Alliance has hosted hundreds of food drives at music festivals including Bonnaroo, Power to the Peaceful, and Wakarusa, and at concerts by artists such as The String Cheese Incident, STS9, Phish, Jack Johnson, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Dave Matthews, Phil Lesh, and many others. Through these collaborations, Conscious Alliance has been able to collect and distribute enough food to provide over 1,164,000 meals to people in need. In 2010, we expanded our focus to include not only emergency food relief, but social development work on reservations as well, with several projects directed toward Native American youth that are intended to help the younger generation develop and uphold a strong relationship to their community and culture.

Communities We Serve:

The primary communities we currently serve are the Pine Ridge and Lame Deer Reservations, where we deliver large supplies of donated and purchased foods and personal supplies. In 2005 we constructed an emergency food storage facility on Pine Ridge Reservation. This facility provides us the capacity to operate an Emergency Food Relief effort that is overseen by a community of elders and medicine men. The program is designed to provide relief to hundreds of families during times of crisis and at the end of the month, when many families have exceeded their budgets and cannot afford to purchase food. The emergency food storage facility on Pine Ridge is one of our primary ongoing projects, and our goal is to keep this facility permanently stocked with food at all                                          times.

A Call To Action:

You have an opportunity to join in this movement. We are currently seeking support from companies who are willing to donate in-kind food items or monetary donations to our organization, which will be used to stock our food storage on Pine Ridge Reservation and fund our youth empowerment programs. Your donation will reduce the need for one of the basic necessities of life in this community. With your help, together we have a great opportunity to influence younger generations as we support them on a path of healthy body and mind.

Thank you in advance for your support. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We look forward to connecting with you soon.
