Our 2017 Hero of the Year—Delores Price

« View Blog Archives

Delores’s giving and loving spirit shines through as she and her family welcome over 30,000 Electric Forest fans to camp on their land during the festival. For eight years, Delores has been a bright light and critical partner in our largest ‘Art at Feeds’ Food Drives, which are now known as the Roy Price Memorial Food Drives in loving memory of her late husband, Roy.

Together, through the food drives we have collected and distributed more than 183,000 meals to community members in the Rothbury, MI area.

She is so passionate about making a dierence that she opens her home to the Conscious Alliance team during the Electric Forest Festival (and previously Rothbury Festival). As we collect large amounts of food donations throughout the event, you can find Delores with volunteers filling and stacking endless boxes of canned goods in her barn to get them ready for distribution.

Beyond critically helping with the Food Drive, Delores cooks for the security of the festival and runs a 24-hour concession stand, Behind e Barn Concessions, LLC. We couldn’t agree more with her dear friend Pamela who said:

“We try to slow her down because she works way too hard. Delores is one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met! Just try to hold her back, you can’t. She worked circles around us all. You need something done, she’ll get it done quickly and thoroughly.”

She appreciates all the music fans who visit her community and loves seeing all the food brought for people in need. After the music fans have left, Delores and her family continue to work hard, distributing the donations to the surrounding communities for weeks.

Beyond her involvement with Electric Forest, Delores regularly volunteers at local food pantries, town meetings, and voting polls. She also takes great care in creatively assembling bags of toys for children in need each year.

Delores’s compassion and generosity is an inspiration to us all and makes the world a better place. Next time you are at Electric Forest, come meet this incredible and giving person. #ForestwithDelores
