Projects
Art That Feeds began with fans donating food at concerts in exchange for event posters created by world-class artists. It has since evolved into our overall project philosophy. We support projects on economically isolated Native American reservations that feed not only the body, but feed the mind and spirit as well.
We use art as the incentive to inspire people to donate to our cause. Concertgoers who participate in our Food Drives receive a Limited Edition Concert Poster for making a suggested donation of non-perishable food items, or a recommended monetary donation.
We partnered with The Kitchen Community, to create an outdoor learning and play space for the Pine Ridge Elementary School in South Dakota. This outdoor classroom and experiential play space is designed to create environments that inspire and encourage children to play and learn.
Every January, we sponsor the Ft. Robinson Run, a 400-mile journey from Nebraska to Montana. The Run was created as a way for Northern Cheyenne youth to pay homage to their ancestors who broke out of Ft. Robinson on January 9, 1879.
Conscious Alliance partnered with the all-vocal hip hop group Urban Method, the Colorado based nonprofit organization the Stronghold Society, and local youth to create a movement through the power of music and collaboration.
Conscious Alliance is proud to support a new sustainable housing project on Pine Ridge Reservation by partnering with the University of Colorado and the Native American Sustainable Housing Initiative (NASHI).
Conscious Alliance began sponsoring a drum workshop on Pine Ridge Reservation. Participants of the workshop learn the traditional Lakota way of making a hand drum, and gather and prepare all the necessary materials themselves.
Every Thanksgiving season we host our Annual Holiday Meal Delivery. Our goal is to distribute over 10,000 meals to families in need each year!
We are initiating a series of art workshops for native and non-native youth. The youth will spend a day exploring their imagination and producing their own unique artwork under the guidance an ‘Art That Feeds’ artist.
Each December, we make an annual toy delivery to the children of the Northern Cheyenne and Pine Ridge Reservations. Jakks Pacific generously donates toys for each delivery, and has provided thousands of holiday gifts for the youth of these reservations throughout the years.
Conscious Alliance sponsored a Coming of Age Gathering, which strived to reconnect Native American youth to their identities within their culture.
