PROJECTS - Project Restoration
Project Restoration is our initiative to construct a network of
food storage and delivery facilities on the Indian Reservations
in the greater western United States. Through a series of benefit
shows entitled, The Rebel Alliance, we raised enough money to erect
our first facility in the fall of 2005, on the Pine Ridge Indian
Reservation in South Dakota. This facility provides us the capacity
to operate an Emergency Food Relief effort that is overseen by a
community of elders and medicine men; the program is designed to
provide relief to hundreds of families during times of crisis and
at the end of the month, when the families have exceeded their budgets.
We envision a whole network of these facilities, redistributing
food to those in the greatest need and thus offsetting the breakdown
in our national food distribution networks.
