In 2005, we successfully built a much needed food storage and distribution facility on Pine Ridge Reservation, one of the poorest communities in the country. The unit is used to store and distribute emergency food supplies to hundreds of families at the end of each month when bills are due and emergency food is critical in making it to the next month.

We are so fortunate to have the support of generous companies like Clif Bar and Third Street Chai, as well as other longtime supporting companies such as Whole Foods Market and Justin’s Nut Butter. We are extremely grateful for the help of these amazing companies, our volunteers, all our supporters, and our partners on Pine Ridge – especially the Hand Family, who maintains and operates our Pine Ridge food pantry on a daily basis. Thanks to all these supporters, we are able to keep our emergency food panty on the reservation stocked year-round!

We are very excited to team up with STS9 this weekend to host an ‘Art That Feeds’ Food Drive at the Fox Theater in Oakland, CA on April 20th & 21st! For this very special event, Mars-1 has created an oversized poster (18 x 24 in.) that will be available to all patrons who donate 20 non-perishable food items to the Food Drive. Monetary donations will also be accepted for the poster.

We are anxious to see what STS9’s third installment of the Great Cycle Spectacles has in store for fans after being blown away by the first two Great Cycle Spectacles shows in Denver and Chicago earlier this year. STS9’s lighting designer, Saxton Waller, told us, “These Great Cycle Spectacles shows are so special because it’s really the first time that we have been able to make the band’s narrative come to life visually, so their music is working together with the whole production to tell their story. I am so excited to continue telling this story with them, these Oakland shows are going to be awesome.” The overwhelming success that Conscious Alliance experienced at the first two chapters of the Great Cycle Spectacles is a great reminder of how much we can accomplish together as a community, and we are sure that Oakland will be no different.
