Thu 02/25
THE FOX THEATRE & CONSCIOUS ALLIANCE Present...

A BENEFIT FOR HAITI BOULDER ACOUSTIC SOCIETY, DOVEKINS, FELLOW CITIZENS & THE DON'TS AND BE CAREFULS

Come see live music while providing relief for those less fortunate at the CU Benefit for Haiti. Four bands will be dedicating their night to playing for a cause.

Boulder Acoustic Society is indie-folk that draws from Appalachian roots, gritty gospel and the contemporary urban soundscapes. BAS merges tradition with innovation, producing a unique sound and an unforgettable live entertainment experience. All of this comes from four guys who wear vintage clothes, savor small batch bourbon and rock the ukulele.

Dovekins is made up of six goonish characters that are fun-loving and appreciate a good time. Their shows have a range of instruments including stand-up bass, accordion, clarinet, piano, mandolin, trombone, banjo, tuba, spoons, and washboard. A psychedelic hoe-down may ensue.

Fellow Citizens is the conglomeration of nine persons from the Denver/Boulder area. The sound generated by these nine goofballs is influenced by a wide variety of artists and musicians. Folk-based at heart and rooted in post-rock, their music has evolved into something much more, making it difficult to classify.

In the spring of 2008, after solidifying their line-up, the The Don'ts and Be Carefuls started to imagine up the sort of music that some have deemed "fun" yet "intense" and on rare occasions, "intensely fun." From the beginning these guys possessed an sound that was difficult to ignore, and their performances displayed a rare conviction not seen since your parents told you not to touch the stove...It's hot you know. So is this band. Hot to make you dance.

Thank you for your continued support in feeding the hungry everywhere the music plays!
