Dear CA Supporters,
We were in the midst of preparing a response to the current state of emergency declared on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota due to the extreme winter cold and blizzard conditions when the terrible tragedy in Haiti occurred.
You may remember that when Hurricane Ike hit in 2008, with your help and the help of our fellow emergency response partners American Rainbow Rapid Response and Christian Disaster Response, we were able to provide over 2,600 free meals each day for 7 weeks (for a total of 18,200 meals) during the Hurricane relief efforts.
Today, we are partnering again in response to the emergency situation in Haiti, and we are asking for your support. Our goal is to raise $30,000 within the next 5 days with details below on how we intend to deploy it.
Your tax deductible donation will be split 50%-50% in support of two urgent missions we are about to embark on: (1) providing urgent and immediate disaster relief to victims in Haiti and (2) responding to the aftermath of extreme winter conditions on Pine ridge.
Thanks to the grassroots nature of our organization and our ability to leverage
partner relationships, over 90% of your donation will be deployed directly on
the ground in these disaster areas. If you or someone you know can donate goods
or services to execute our missions in Haiti and Pine Ridge, please contact Justin
Levy directly at: levy@consciousalliance.org.
Your donation is invaluable to the people we serve. DONATE

Relief Efforts in Haiti
Both Christian Disaster Response (CDR) and American Rainbow Rapid Response (ARRR) are highly experienced in the unique difficulties of providing onsite services in disaster areas. You have probably seen in the news that some relief workers are actually adding to the burden of the relief efforts. Both organizations are very sensitive to these issues and understand effective disaster relief. CDR is planning on delivering goods by boat, bypassing Port Au Prince and delivering services to outlying areas where refugee populations are gathering and relief services can be more effectively provided. We are accepting in-kind donations of goods in bulk quantity, preferably palletized, including personal care goods such as soap, tooth brushes and tooth paste, disinfectant of any kind, basic food items such as rice, beans, coffee, salt, sugar, and supplemental items such as batteries, flashlights, tents and warm weather clothing. They must be packaged in bulk for shipment to the CDR warehouse in Florida. For more details regarding bulk item donation, please contact Justin Levy via email levy@consciousalliance.org.
Haiti Mission
Our goal is to purchase, at manufacturing cost, pallets of Justin’s Nut Butter; a portable, durable and easily distributable source of protein. This will be combined with a shipment of personal care products such as soap donated by our corporate partner, Pangea Organics. We are also raising funds to pay for the shipping of food products, donated by food manufactures in the Conscious Alliance network, to CDR for their mass food distribution efforts in Haiti.
Pine Ridge Mission
Due to extreme winter cold, resources for food have been diverted from food pantries and allocated to home heating. There are two sources of heat on Pine Ridge: wood stoves and propane. Propane tanks are now depleted, and there is only one provider of propane on the Reservation. The minimum order requirement per delivery is $125.00 per tank. Delivery can only
be made to remote villages when enough homes can meet this minimum. When minimums aren’t met, deliveries aren’t made and people are left to freeze inside their homes. We plan to partner with Looks For Buffalo, our food distribution partner, to deliver much needed propane and firewood to these remote communities.
Please support these urgent missions with your tax deductible donation today. DONATE
